Catholic Foundation Tours New St. Pius X Seminary
Investing in the Future of the Priesthood
The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Scranton recently had the opportunity to tour the newly established St. Pius X Seminary, a significant milestone in the Diocese’s ongoing commitment to priestly formation and vocational development.

Representing the Foundation, Executive Director Mark DiPippa joined diocesan leadership, development staff, and key supporters for a firsthand look at the seminary and its mission. The tour included Bishop Joseph C. Bambera, Father Gerald Shantillo, members of the Diocese’s Development Office, and Catholic Foundation Board Member John Graham.
Leading the tour was Father Alex Roche, who provided insight into the seminary’s vision, facilities, and formation programs designed to prepare future priests for faithful service to the people of God throughout the Diocese of Scranton.

The opening of St. Pius X Seminary represents a renewed investment in fostering priestly vocations and ensuring that future generations of Catholics will be served by well-formed, faith-filled priests.
The visit also highlighted the importance of the Catholic Foundation’s Seminarian Endowment Fund, which helps provide long-term financial support for the education and formation of seminarians.
As the Diocese celebrates the opening of St. Pius X Seminary, the Catholic Foundation remains committed to strengthening vocations through faithful stewardship and charitable giving.
