Catholic Foundation Recognizes Donor’s Generous Gift to St. Jude Parish
The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Scranton is pleased to recognize the generosity of Dr. Dave Vrba, whose recent gift will help preserve and celebrate the rich heritage of St. Jude Parish.
As part of his commitment to supporting the Church and its mission, Dave Vrba made a donation to the Catholic Foundation to acquire a painting of St. Jude Church in Mountain Top and subsequently donated the artwork to the parish. This thoughtful gesture ensures that a lasting tribute to the parish will be available for parishioners and visitors to enjoy for years to come.
The Catholic Foundation is honored to highlight acts of stewardship such as this one, which demonstrate the meaningful impact individual donors can have on their faith communities. Gifts of this nature not only preserve parish history but also inspire others to consider how they can support the ministries and institutions that have shaped their lives.
The donation was made in connection with the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote charitable giving and engagement throughout the Diocese. The Foundation’s past art auction and related fundraising initiatives provide unique opportunities for supporters to contribute to the mission of the Church while celebrating artistic and cultural heritage.
St. Jude Parish has long served the faithful in the Mountain Top area, fostering worship, faith formation, and community outreach. The donated painting stands as a visual reminder of the important role the parish plays in the lives of its members and the enduring generosity of those who support its mission.
The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Scranton remains committed to connecting donors with meaningful opportunities to strengthen parishes, ministries, and charitable programs throughout the Diocese.
“The generosity of donors like Dave reflects the spirit of stewardship that strengthens our parishes and our diocesan community,” said Mark DiPippa, Executive Director of the Catholic Foundation.
“This gift is an example of how philanthropy can make a meaningful difference at the parish level while inspiring others to support the mission of the Church,” said Chris DiMattio, Board Chair of the Catholic Foundation.
