Strengthen Our Catholic Community.
The Catholic Foundation is launching an online auction benefiting the Founders Campaign, an initiative designed to expand the Foundation’s capacity to serve parishes, schools, and diocesan ministries for years to come.
The auction features a generous and unique contribution from Austin Burke, former President of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce and a renowned regional artist. Burke has donated over 20 original paintings to support the campaign.
The auction will open April 13, 2026 and run through May 1, 2026.
Auction winners are invited to a reception at the rectory for dinner and photos with the Bishop and their painting on May 13, 2026.

“My husband, John, and I feel strongly about the importance of the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Scranton – especially the potential for it to be a long-term source of funds to support the work of the Diocese in the areas of seminarian formation, social services and other important needs. As a tribute to my parents, Carl & Rose Severini, we decided to make a memorial gift to the Founders’ Fund to honor their commitment to serving those less fortunate, which they did in many ways throughout their lives. The Founders’ Fund was established to get the Foundation up and running, and to support operating needs over its early years. My mom and dad would be pleased to know that their legacy of compassion for others will continue by helping to build the Foundation, ensuring a lasting source of funds for good works far into the future.”
